MISSISSIPPI CUSTOMER ENGRAVED ON HIKING STICK

Recently Mountainside Craft recieved a special request from a customer in Mississippi, he wanted a Tall Twisted Hiking Stick without any finish so he could engrave information on it for a friend who hikes the Appalachian Trail, as a Christmas present!

This stick contains the states and year date that she has or will complete the Appalachian Trail, in the twisted part of the stick.

It also contains the John Muir quote "The mountains are calling and I must go" on top of the stick.

We are very proud that he did this for his friend and she LOVES her hiking stick. Thank you for the pictures.

Our 3rd Annual July 4th Party was held on July 3rd this year. Whitney, Emily, James and Elizabeth made us a banner to hang from the deck!

The kids played on the water slide all day!!

Lots of FOOD!! Everyone brought food and Josh grilled Steaks!!!

About 100 friends and family members came and we ate and played all day!!

Our daughter, Whitney and Josh, will be married on June12,2010. The week before the wedding was spent mowing, making flowers and decorating. The wedding will take place at the beautiful Loyd Farm in Bridgeport, AL. It has been alot of hard work, but is it all coming together nicely!!

This winter we found out that our oldest daughter, Brooke and her husband Chris will be adding a new addition to our family!! We are expecting the new baby in September!! We now know that our new grandson, yes it is a boy, will be named Jacob Christopher Yates. Mountainside Craft Firestarters have been added to our store front! They are made with sawdust and wax in a paper cup, wrapped with a coffee filter and tied with a piece of twine. We add an instruction label and a "strike-anywhere" match. Our Firestarter will burn for 20 minutes. They are great for fireplaces and campfires.

CAVE AT CATHEDRAL CAVERNS

This is the view from inside the mouth of the cave at Cathedral Caverns. The opening measures 126 feet wide and 25 feet high. The temperature inside the cave is 60 degrees all year! The walking tour is 1.3 miles and last 75 to 90 minutes. And for your tour you may purchase a Mountainside Craft Walking Stick from the gift shop!

This is a picture of the Lodge at Joe Wheeler State Park. Visit this beautiful Alabama State Park, purchase your hiking/walking stick from the Marina Gift Shop, and take your family on a nature hike. When I was there I saw 3 deer grazing on the side of the road. Just imagine the wildlife you may see on the trails!

I recently visited Joe Wheeler State Park. Located in Rogersville, AL, this state park offers several hiking trails. The most popular is located between the Day Use Area and the Resort Lodge. This trail is approximately 2.5 miles. The South side cabin area has a 2.5 mile looped multi-use trail. This is a beautiful park with something for everyone!

Bald Rock Boardwalk Trail, Pulpit Rock Trail, Rock Garden and Lake Trails are a few of the trails at Cheaha! Our Tennessee walking sticks are produced in the small town of Kimball, TN. We are located about 35 miles west of Chattanooga on I24. Our business is located in the basement of our home, on the side of the mountain. I am using the tall twisted walking stick and my daughter, Whitney, has the tall striped stick.
